Objectives

MIDCCA

Focus on advancing the AVGCE-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, Education, and Extended Reality) sector in Maharashtra. The association aims to establish favorable policies and incentives that benefit all industry members, particularly small Special packages and independent creators, while promoting continuous skill development through training programs and partnerships. By positioning Maharashtra as a global AVGCE-XR hub, MIDCCA strives to attract young talent and influence educational curricula to integrate AVGCE-XR from early stages. Dedicated sector leaders drive growth in each vertical, while new technologies and world-class IP development are encouraged to solidify Maharashtra's standing in the digital content creation industry.

Policy, Incentives, and Welfare

Advocacy for separate AVGCE-XR policies, ensuring that incentives and welfare are centered around the benefit of all industry members, particularly smaller production houses and Special packages

Focus on constantly enhancing skills and upskilling the workforce within the AVGCE-XR sector. Training programs, workshops, and collaborations with educational institutions will be key components.

Promote AVGCE-XR as an attractive career option for young talent.

A strategic plan will be put in place to position Maharashtra as a powerful hub for the AVGCE-XR sector. This includes taking the 'Maharashtra Pavilion' to nationals and events.

There will be efforts to influence school and higher education curricula to introduce AVGCE-XR early on, creating a strong pipeline of skilled professionals. A dedicated academic body will be formed to lead this initiative.

Each vertical—animation, gaming, visual effects, comics, education, and XR—will have dedicated champions within the association to drive growth and innovation in these areas.

A specific focus was placed on the VFX sector, where most incentives currently benefit producers, not the visual effects Special packages. The association will work to revise policies to ensure that VFX Special packages receive direct benefits.

Organize tech-focused events and networking sessions.

Aim for Maharashtra to lead in the creation of high-quality intellectual property.

The association will push for modernised incentives for production Special packages, education providers, and artists, similar to policies enacted in Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Kerala.
